Yoga Therapy at PRANA

Yoga Therapy at PRANA

Intelligent Practice. Individualised Support.

Yoga Therapy at PRANA is rooted in the Iyengar tradition, with its emphasis on precision, alignment, awareness, and the intelligent use of props.

The Iyengar approach has made Yoga accessible to people with different physical abilities and limitations by allowing postures to be modified, supported, and adapted to the needs of the individual.

At PRANA, this principle forms an important part of our therapeutic Yoga practice.

Rather than expecting every student to perform the same posture in the same way, our teachers observe the individual’s condition, movement, limitations, and needs and adapt the practice accordingly.

Yoga Therapy Is More Than Exercise

Therapeutic Yoga is a practice of developing greater awareness of the body, breath, movement, and mind.

Through carefully selected and modified asanas, supported practices, and conscious breathing, students learn to work with their bodies progressively and intelligently.

The practice may help develop:

  • Greater body awareness
  • Improved movement and alignment
  • Strength and flexibility
  • Breath awareness
  • Concentration and steadiness
  • Confidence in physical practice

Every individual’s journey is different.

The practice is adapted to the person not the person forced to adapt to the practice.

Yoga Therapy at PRANA

At PRANA, therapeutic classes are designed for individuals who may need a more structured, personalised, and carefully adapted approach to Yoga.

Our teachers use props and modifications where appropriate to make practices accessible while helping students work progressively within their abilities.

Therapeutic sessions may be considered for individuals experiencing a range of physical and lifestyle-related concerns.

Pregnancy & Women’s Health

Yoga practices may be adapted according to the individual’s stage, physical condition, and requirements.

The suitability and modification of Yoga practice depends on the individual’s health status and assessment.

Weight & Lifestyle Support

Yoga can also form part of a broader lifestyle and wellness approach for individuals working toward healthier movement habits and body composition goals.

At PRANA, Yoga may be combined with appropriate Nutrition & Dietetics and other Integrated Wellness modalities where relevant.

The PRANA Approach to Yoga Therapy

What makes therapeutic Yoga at PRANA different is not simply the postures we teach.

It is how the practice is adapted to the individual.

Observe

We understand the individual’s condition, movement patterns, limitations, and goals.

Adapt

Postures, props, sequences, and techniques are modified where appropriate.

Progress

Practice develops gradually as strength, mobility, awareness, and confidence improve.

Integrate

Where appropriate, Yoga Therapy can form part of a broader Integrated Wellness plan alongside other PRANA modalities.

A Practice of Awareness

Therapeutic Yoga asks for active participation.

It requires patience, consistency, curiosity, and a willingness to understand your own body.

With regular practice, the objective is not simply to perform a posture.

It is to develop greater awareness of how you move, breathe, respond, and adapt.

At PRANA, Yoga Therapy is a journey toward a more intelligent relationship with your body.
